BHES celebrated the careers of two beloved teachers on the last day of school! Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Miller have impacted the lives of our students and we are so grateful they both spent the majority of their careers in our building. We have some pretty big shoes to fill! Good morning We are so excited to start day 173. Today is Tuesday May 24th BHES Teachers will begin collecting Chromebooks and chargers from students over the next couple of days. Please make sure your student brings in their assigned Chromebook and appropriate charger. Any missing or damaged equipment will result in charges to be paid by the family for replacements for next school year. BHES will continue to serve breakfast this week in order to help us figure out program for the fall. Please let your student know if they are signed up for breakfast and remind them to stop by the cafeteria when they get to school if they are. For next school year, we will be holding our registration largely online. For those that need to come in-person, our days are August 2nd and 3rd. Both days will have a morning session from 8:00AM to 12:00PM with a 3:00PM to 7:00PM session on August 3rd. All Kindergarten students must register in person to ensure all the correct paperwork is completed and turned in. The elementary school will also be holding Kindergarten Orientation on August 16th starting at 5:30 in the classrooms with an all school Open House starting at 6:00 for the other grade levels. Candymakers make this taffy using boiled sugar and butter. They then have to stretch and pull it until to becomes a chewy consistency and can be cut into the right size. At one time stores offered penny candy and taffy was one of those common candies people could get so cheaply. Some of the most popular flavors of taffy include banana, birthday cake, peppermint, cotton candy, licorice, and strawberry. Reminder! BHES 4th grade students traveled down the road to the new all weather track for the 1st ever 4th Grade Track Meet! Students participated in 6 events: 100 meter dash, 50 meter hurdles, shot put, discus (frisbee), long jump, and 4 x 100 meter relay. Students did an amazing job and many are excited to join the track team next spring! A big shout out goes to Mrs. Kentner, Mr. Leigh, Mr. Campbell, Logan Leigh, Audrey Taylor, classroom teachers, and parent volunteers for all of the help! It was a great day to be a Blue Devil!

Construction on the new football field is progressing and we're so excited! PLEASE stay off the football field until construction is complete. The crew is working hard at getting everything perfectly level. Please talk to your kiddos about staying off the field as well. Even the smallest footsteps leave imprints that must be fixed before they continue. Every time they have to relevel, it sets us back. We can't wait to see you under the lights this fall!

Camp runs from 9:00-3:30 daily (with an option for extended care). It is a full week of hands-on experiences in science and engineering for students entering 1st through 6th grade.
