From Officer Damilano:
September is National Suicide Prevention Month.
The warning signs to look for include changes in behavior, especially those that are entirely new and related to a sudden loss or change, increased use of alcohol or drugs, isolating from family and friends and visiting or calling people to say goodbye.
Itβs important for those struggling with thoughts of suicide to feel a sense of connection to family, friends and their community.
This connection can be strengthened by making a deliberate effort to check in with friends and family or meeting new people, also encouraging them to attend events!
We have many fun events happening at BHRA and in Vermilion County. Please reach out to your friends.
The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, along with prevention and crisis resources.

BHES Parent's Club Blanket Fundraiser!
Here is the form sent home this week with BHES students. The Parent's Club is excited to be a part of adding some Blue Devil branding projects to the grade school.
These will be great for the rest of the fall athletic season, keeping warm this winter, and also great to spread out on the ground for a track meet or a summer picnic!
Turnaround for the blankets will be around 7 days once submitted after all of the forms have been collected.
Checks can be payable to BHES Parentβs Club.
Any student participant will be entered into a $50 Amazon gift card drawing.
Students need to turn in their sheets and money to their homeroom teachers by 9/27.

A message from Officer Damilano
Hello everyone! August is National Back to School Safety Month! We are so happy to see the kiddos for the 24-25 school year. I wanted to remind parents and students of some ways to help be safe.
* Walk on the sidewalk where there is one, if not walk facing the traffic as close to the side of the road as possible.
* When crossing the street, stop-look left, right and left again. Make contact with drivers before crossing!
* Ride your bicycle on the right side with traffic, stay alert and walk bikes across streets.
* Stay seated when on the bus and always listen to the bus driver!
* When driving through school zones, obey posted speed limits and make eye contact with children who are walking in the area.
* When driving in school parking lots, go slow and pay attention!!
Let's have a safe and wonderful year!
