From one school community to another, our thoughts and prayers are with the students, staff, and families of Hoopeston Area Middle School. The Bismarck-Henning school community is thinking of you and sending care, encouragement, and support. 💙

Learning to read is one of the most complex things our brains do, and many students need extra support along the way. If you've ever wondered how to better help your child or just want to connect with other parents who understand, the Vermilion County Regional Office of Education and ROESchoolworks are partnering on a wonderful local opportunity!
One of the most important things to remember: you are not alone, and neither is your child!

Bismarck Henning CUSD 1 Superintendent Scott Watson is planning to retire effective June 30, 2028. The Board of Education is conducting a survey regarding a search for a new Superintendent. The selection of a new Superintendent is one of the most important decisions a Board of Education must make; therefore, the Board has hired the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to assist in this process.
The Board of Education is seeking everyone’s input in the search process. The Board requests that all board members, all staff, all parents and community members complete an online survey provided by the IASB. The results will be tallied and used by the Board as they consider the future leadership of Bismarck Henning CUSD 1. All survey responses and comments will remain anonymous.
.
The survey for all other stakeholders can be accessed at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DQV9B5T
The survey deadline is: April 15, 2026 at 11:45 p.m.
Thank you for taking time to complete the survey.
