✨ What an incredible day at BHES! ✨
We were so thankful to welcome Ben and Crystal Woods to BHES. They kicked things off by inspiring the entire student body, then spent the day visiting classrooms to share the message of having open eyes, open hearts, and open hands to actively show kindness. 💙
Our students left encouraged, challenged, and excited to put kindness into action every single day. Thank you, Ben and Crystal, for pouring into our school community! 🌟
And if you’d like to keep spreading kindness, check out their daughter Calla Lily’s Slime Shop at www.lovelikecalla.com. You can learn more about the Woods' inspirational story by checking out their website at: https://www.lookoutfortheleftout.com/our-story 💜

This week, our 2nd graders have been reading a story about emus—and we had the perfect surprise guest readers join us on Wednesday! ☺️
You might remember that around this time last year, there was an emu on the loose in Vermilion County. Inspired by that adventure, two amazing Blue Devil alumnae, Emily Chappell and Jennifer Heidrick, created a book called The Incredible Adventures of Lady Emu! Emily wrote the story, Jennifer illustrated it, and together they packed it full of alphabet fun and neat facts about our county. 🤩
Not only did they share their story with us, but they also brought along a replica emu egg for students to observe—such a cool hands-on experience!
A huge thank you to Emily and Jennifer for spending time with 2nd grade today. We loved every minute! 📚💙
📖 Want your own copy of The Incredible Adventures of Lady Emu? Pick one up at Small Town Famous in Bismarck, or order here: https://shorturl.at/GjTrW

We were honored to have Esther Cunningham visit the BHES Cunningham Children's Garden, a space named in memory of her late husband, Don Cunningham, who served as principal here at BHES.
Mr. Cunningham made a lasting impact on our school and community, and it meant so much to have Esther here to see how the garden continues to grow in his name. The garden is a living tribute to a life of leadership, care, and service.
Thank you, Esther, for spending time with us and for sharing in the spirit of this special place.
