Lexi plans to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specialize in pediatric or neonatal nursing.
What will you miss most about high school? One thing I will miss about high school is the drive to DACC with Sierra as we always admired the goats and cows along the way.
Who's been the biggest influence in your life? My grandma has definitely been the greatest influence in my life so far—in my faith, love, baking, everything.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a kid, I really wanted to be a marine biologist, but when I realized that I probably could not do that in Illinois, I changed my mind.
What is a saying or expression that you probably say too much? "You never know it's the last time until it's already been..." Anyone who knows me, knows that I said this way too often, but it's so true 😂


Congratulations Jack Silver!
Son of Marty Silver and Karen Roth
Jack will attend DACC for 2 years. He then plans to transfer to the U of I for a degree in Farm Management. Jack hopes to own his own beef and horse ranch and to compete in rodeos.
What is your favorite BHRA memory? FFA
What is your biggest accomplishment so far? My biggest accomplishment is probably taking one of my horses from a hot-headed bulldogger to a level-headed, well rounded ride that’s still just as fast. I also learned valuable life, management, and horsemanship skills along the way.
Any advice for incoming freshmen? Branch out and try new things and be as involved as you can be. Don’t hesitate to join a sports team just because you think you’ll sit the bench most of the time, otherwise you’ll regret that decision.
Which teacher has influenced you the most or made the biggest impact on you, and why? Mrs. Clapp has had the biggest impact on me. She never had me in class or anything, but she’s my sister so I’d say she’s had a pretty big impact.

What's your favorite BHRA memory? Band camp & marching band season
Who's been the biggest influence in your life? My teachers. They push me to be the best version of myself while also pushing myself to better my education and to challenge myself.
Any hidden talents? I can lick my elbow
Which teacher has influenced you the most or made the biggest impact on you and why? Ms.Mathis has influenced me the most because she believes in me. She never has doubts about my abilities. She knows me and she knows that I can always push myself to do better and to try harder. She always pushes me to do that. She also created my love for writing. I truly love and appreciate all that Ms. Mathis does , not only for me, but for every single one of her students. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

Jillian will be continuing her education at DACC, but is unsure of her major.
What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory probably took place when we would go down to Georgia to visit family. Every trip, my sister and I would look forward to cooking with my great grandma. At least once a trip, we could be found in the kitchen with Mama Durr baking biscuits for breakfast.
What's the best piece of advice you've received? "Take one day at a time" -my mom

Emily will be a biology major on the pre-medical track at Saint Louis University this fall.
What's your favorite BHRA memory? Spending study hall, physics, and most homerooms in Mr. Stoens’s room Junior year. He is an awesome teacher and advice-giver.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received? If there’s a will, there’s a way. If there’s a Quizlet, there’s an A.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I will hopefully be finishing up my medical residency in Pediatric Hematology.
Any superstitions? I never walk under ladders, and I knock on wood to avoid a jinx.
Which teacher has influenced you the most or made the biggest impact on you, and why? Mr. Head has influenced me the most because of the passion he has for the science he teaches. He inspired my love for science, and I have no idea what my future career path would be if he wasn’t my biology teacher.

Maisie has enlisted in the United States Army. She leaves for basic training on May 26.
What's the best piece of advice you've received? Improvise, adapt, and overcome
Favorite BHRA memory? My favorite BHRA memory was being able to be the cheer captain of the 2019-2020 basketball season. We went undefeated in our regular season and it was just such an adventure.
You discover a beautiful island where you decide to build a new society. What is the first rule you put in place? Everybody in the society has to interact with each other. That way everyone will meet new people and not stick to one group of people.
