Not your family's Monopoly! Mrs. Guminski's Dual US History is learning about economics of the early 20th century by playing Monopoly, but with a twist. Using the examples of the Robber Barons like Rockefeller, Carnegie and Vanderbilt, they can force a trade between players, practice vertical consolidation or vote as a class to break up monopolies that they believe violate the law! They will record their results and answer the question- What is the correlation between the number of monopolies a player has and the outcome of the game?

The BHRA Student Council is looking for donated items or themed gift baskets to be raffled off at the annual Cancer Night on February 27th. All proceeds will go to the Danville Cancer Center to assist patients in their fight against cancer. Please bring items to the BHRA High School pffice by 3:30 pm on Friday, February 5th. Raffle tickets will go on sale Monday, February 9th. Please contact Jennifer Guminski (jguminski@bismarck.k12.il.us) at the high school with any questions. Congratulations to Senior Keison Peoples on breaking the BHRA single-game scoring record! Keison poured in 56 points, surpassing the previous mark of 42 set by Brandon McCorkle in 2002, and led the Blue Devils to a 75–69 victory over Phalen Leadership Academy. 💙🏀
