Please welcome Ms. Stephanie Mathis to BHRA! She will be joining our PE department this year.
Stephanie is originally from Danville and graduated from Bismarck in 2006. She’s excited to be back at BHRA - once a Blue Devil, always a Blue Devil!
Stephanie spent the last 10 years working at State Farm as a Software Developer. She developed a curriculum and led a teaching Dojo for software development teams. She also visited schools around the country to recruit and educate high school and college students on technology.
Stephanie is an avid runner and has completed several races - most in Disney World! She played volleyball and ran track in high school and is a huge hockey and baseball fan. She’s excited to bring her love of sports and running to P.E. this year.

Please welcome our new Learning Specialist, Mrs. Mia Harrier!
My name is Mia Harrier, and this will be my 5th year of teaching. I am an alumnus of Eastern Illinois University, Millikin, and Greenville and previously taught at Hoopeston Area. My husband, Ashley, and I live in Danville with our three children. Our oldest is a 4th grader at BHES. In my spare time I like to read, quilt, sew simple projects, watch Supercross (and spend time at our family track in Westville), and spend time with friends and family. I am very excited to be a part of the BHRA family!

Coach Johnson is celebrating 50 years in Education!
"Tom Johnson has spent his entire career in this community, dating back to 1971. He started as a PE and Health teacher and has coached Football, Wrestling, and Track. For the past 25 years he has served as the school's Athletic Director. Tom is one of the most influential leaders that I have ever been around. Tom is highly respected both locally and around the state. He has been inducted in to 2 separate halls of fame and was elected District Athletic Director of the Year in 2018. His influence in this community extends far beyond his job title, and I am lucky to be able to learn from him each and every day." ~Mr. Rademacher
Please share your stories and well wishes for Coach Johnson in the comments below. We'd love to hear from his former students and athletes!

Mr. Ward is celebrating 50 years in Education!
"Myron Ward started teaching and coaching in Stephen Decatur High School in 1969. After taking a year off to complete his Master's Degree, he started in Rossville-Alvin in 1971 where he also coached Cross Country and Wrestling. He started at Bismarck-Henning High School in 2005 and has been in this building ever since. Mr. Ward's energy and compassion for kids is obvious and infectious. He is one of the most beloved teachers that has ever graced these halls and for good reason. He shows kids love and respect each and every day." ~Mr. Rademacher
Please share your stories and well wishes for Mr. Ward in the comments below. He loves to hear from his students. We will make sure he sees each and every message.
