Great job, Blue Devils!

On Wednesday, April 19th, Mrs. Guminski's Sociology class visited the Newell Township Historical Society with their student teacher Ms. Boerema. Mr. and Mrs. Moss shared the Society's artifacts about the history of the schools in Newell Township. It was part of the class' research on their project of the impact on school cooperatives and consolidation on communities. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Moss for hosting our class!

We just received news from the Bismarck Water District that the boil order has been lifted. Thank you for your patience!

Alumni Spotlight - Becky Kinnett - RAHS Class of 1989
My name is Becky Kinnett. I am a graduate of Rossville-Alvin High School, Class of 1989. After graduation I attended Danville Area Community College to obtain my Associates degree in Computer Programming. After graduating from DACC, I decided to work full time and put my college goals on hold. In 1994 I was hired as an Accounts Payable clerk at McLane Midwest in Danville. McLane is a wholesale distribution business servicing Walmart, SAMS, Circle K, 7-11 and many more. In 2014 I decided to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, graduating from the University of Phoenix in 2016. Over the years I have held many different jobs, from Controller to most recently Vice President. I will be celebrating my 29th year with McLane in May. When I was promoted to Controller it wasn’t an easy transition. As I was to begin an exciting new career my son, Blake Kinnett (graduate of BHRA 2019) was diagnosed with a terminally rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). At that point I was driven to advocate for Blake and all the other boy’s suffering from this horrific disease. My husband and I pursued the law to pass newborn screening for ALD in Illinois. That law was passed in 2019 and Blake was honored with the passing of the law. All babies in Illinois are now tested for ALD and have a fighting chance to survive the disease. This by far is my greatest accomplishment.
I currently reside in Alvin with my husband John and my son, Blake. I have two other children, Kaitlyn and Garet. I have the most amazing grandchildren in the world. Landon who is 6 years old and Kendal who is 3 years old. I love spending time with my family and woodworking when I find the time to do so.

Community members who attended high schools in the BHRA community, whether that was Bismarck-Henning, Rossville-Alvin, or another high school that was open at the time are encouraged to also fill out the survey.
