Ronto led things off in the circle surrendering zero runs on zero hits over five innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Blue Devils tallied 11 hits on the day. Ella Myers, Ava Acton, Raeghan Dickison, Mikayla Cox, and Natalie Clapp each managed multiple hits. Myers led BHRA with three hits in three at bats. The Blue Devils stole seven bases during the game. Clapp led the way with three.

Throwback Thursday!
Roger W Brown - 1947 Graduate of Alvin High School
Roger was a baseball pitcher signing a professional baseball contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers at 15 on May 6, 1945. He played for various farm teams in the MLB. His wool uniform can be seen at the Rossville Historical Society.
After high school graduation Roger went to Illinois State University and the University of Illinois until he was injured, after which he helped out the baseball coach of the U of I. After graduating college he joined the US Air Force. Roger continued on to lead an interesting and distinguished career working at NASA, General Dynamics, AMTRAK, and the Sanders Division of Lockheed Martin to name a few. During this time he completed his Master's Degree in Business at New Hampshire College.
Roger always remembered his roots of Alvin, Illinois and brought his family back here twice each year. In 2020 the Village of Alvin trustees voted to name the baseball/softball field The Roger W Brown Memorial Field after a man devoted to baseball and his hometown.

Cardinals Ticket Update
*Tickets were emailed out about an hour ago.
*If you did not receive your tickets, please email jhuffman@bismarck.k12.il.us with your name and the email tickets should go to. She will respond as soon as she can.
*Blue Devil country came out IN FORCE (way to go!). Because we sold so many tickets they moved our sections to Level 1 but on the other side. We're very sorry for the inconvenience. We had no idea this could or would happen.
If you haven't already, double check Busch Stadium's stadium rules. Among other things, they do not accept cash and there are bag rules.
Be safe and weather aware during your trip tomorrow!

BHRA is so proud of Maci Long!
Maci participated in the Vermilion County Youth Leadership Conference this past January. State Representative Marron was inspired to create a resolution during this conference. More information is in the article attached.

High school students from the VVC will be showcasing their best work. You won't be disappointed!
Good luck Blue Devils!

Parents,
As most of you probably know, our former BHHS Alumni Dylan Dodd (Class of 2016), will be the starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves against the St. Louis Cardinals, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in St. Louis at 6:45pm. We have numerous Elementary, Junior High and High School staff members who plan to attend the game with a possibility of around 90 high school students. The district will be transporting the high school students who want to ride the fan bus to and from the game. There is no way for us to get the students home after school, then leave and try to get to the game in time unless we have a 1:00pm dismissal. With that being said, the plan is to have a 1:00pm dismissal for next Tuesday, April 4th. This is a special time for all Blue Devils fans and we are excited that so many people want to make the trip to St. Louis to support Dylan.
Respectfully,

The St. Louis Cardinals have offered a group rate for the Blue Devil Community for Dylan Dodd’s opening debut on Tuesday, April 4th. Tickets are on the first level down the 3rd base line.
Tickets are $14/each cash only. They can be purchased in the BHRA office Thursday and Friday from 7am-5pm and on Saturday from 8:30am-10:30am. Tickets will be delivered digitally to the email address you provide us.
A fan bus is available for BHRA students only, but they must purchase their ticket through BHRA and turn in their permission slip.
