BHJH Softball battled three hard fought back to back to back games this weekend! They lost the first game in heartbreaking fashion to the Heyworth Hornets 7-6 in extra innings. The second game started in the rain and the girls fell behind 7-1 to the LeRoy Panthers. The girls bounced back to beat the Fisher Bunnies 9-6 in the third and final game. Defensively, Giana Brown and Tinley Siddens lead the way from the mound. Offensively, Mia Ohler lead the way collectively with 4 hits and 5 RBIs. Giana Brown had 3 hits and Reese Monson batted in 2 runs. The girls are back in action for their first home game Monday vs. PVO at 4:15pm.

Due to wet conditions in LeRoy, all softball games have been pushed back by 1 hour. The bus will leave from the JH parking lot at 8:45am.

Baseball practice has been cancelled this evening. Players need to be at BHJH tomorrow morning for the game by 9:00am.

A message from Officer Damilano
Hello everyone! August is National Back to School Safety Month! We are so happy to see the kiddos for the 24-25 school year. I wanted to remind parents and students of some ways to help be safe.
* Walk on the sidewalk where there is one, if not walk facing the traffic as close to the side of the road as possible.
* When crossing the street, stop-look left, right and left again. Make contact with drivers before crossing!
* Ride your bicycle on the right side with traffic, stay alert and walk bikes across streets.
* Stay seated when on the bus and always listen to the bus driver!
* When driving through school zones, obey posted speed limits and make eye contact with children who are walking in the area.
* When driving in school parking lots, go slow and pay attention!!
Let's have a safe and wonderful year!
Officer Damilano

BHRA & BHJH are so excited to welcome Ms. Jillian Williford to the Blue Devil Family!!! Ms. Williford will be the new chorus & band teacher for the Blue Devils! Welcome Ms. Williford!
Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. Williford and I graduated from Eastern Illinois University. I am a graduate of Westville High School. I have been a general music teacher and band director in Danville District 118 for 9 years. I love watching Illinois Basketball and no matter how they play, I’m a die hard Cubs fan! I love baking, and love to quote movies, especially musicals. I am looking forward to becoming a Blue Devil and most excited to teach Band and Choir.
If you'd like to welcome Ms. Williford and help get her room set up in Blue Devil Nation, you can find her Amazon wish list here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/16GFHNF79CGHQ?ref_=wl_share
