Attention Blue Devil & Storm Fans!!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Did you know?
🎗 1 in 257 kids will be diagnosed before age 19
🎗 Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in American children
🎗 Only 4% of the NIC budget is directed toward pediatric cancer
🎗 About 50% of research is funded by private donors/corporations/foundations
We will be doing a cash dash between 3rd & 4th quarter on Friday to see how much we can raise for St. Jude in just 90 seconds. Let's come together to help make a difference! Bring that cash!

From Officer Damilano:
September is National Suicide Prevention Month.
The warning signs to look for include changes in behavior, especially those that are entirely new and related to a sudden loss or change, increased use of alcohol or drugs, isolating from family and friends and visiting or calling people to say goodbye.
It’s important for those struggling with thoughts of suicide to feel a sense of connection to family, friends and their community.
This connection can be strengthened by making a deliberate effort to check in with friends and family or meeting new people, also encouraging them to attend events!
We have many fun events happening at BHRA and in Vermilion County. Please reach out to your friends.
The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, along with prevention and crisis resources.

Students in Mrs. Guminski's classes are participating in an interactive memorial program with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum today to honor those we lost 23 years ago. Students are watching five survivors talk about their experiences and what it meant to live in a "new normal" post-9/11. As they view the testimonials, they are able to chat live with museum staff to ask questions about the video, the museum and memorial.
