Today is the last day for College Express classes. College Express classes will resume Tuesday, January 19th in person.
The Blue Devil Christmas kindness tree is up in the student commons area. Please take a look and see what you can do to help make someone else’s Christmas bright and merry!
Congratulations to Mikayla Cox for being selected as a finalist for this week's artist of the week on Artsonia. The finalist who receives the most online votes between now and Saturday December 12 will be selected as our "Artist of the Week." College Express Textbooks: Please return these to Mr. Benjamin if you are an early grad, not taking College Express next semester, or if your instructor has informed you to do so.
Friday is a remote learning day from 8am-11am. Be sure you are checked into Teacherease by 8:15.
Remote Learners: You need to check in to TeacherEase each day before 8:15am - even if you have no Google Meets scheduled for the day, you MUST complete this step or you will be marked absent-unexcused for all classes.

Please note that the CDC currently recommends a quarantine period of 14 days. However, the CDC and the Illinois Dept. of Public Health have agreed to the following options to shorten the quarantine period. These are the acceptable alternatives:

• Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if student has no symptoms.

• Quarantine can end after Day 7 if the student tests negative and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring. The test must be taken within 48 hours before the time of planned quarantine discontinuation, but quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than Day 8. In other words, the earliest they could test would be on Day 6.

With both options the following additional criteria through day 14 must be met: • correct and consistent mask use (including within homes), • social distancing, hand and cough hygiene, hand and cough hygiene, environmental cleaning and disinfection, avoiding crowds, ensuring adequate indoor ventilation, monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19 illness, and minimizing contact with persons at increased risk for severe illness, including vulnerable and congregate populations.

Monitoring can be conducted using any method acceptable by the local public health authorities and can include self-monitoring using an approved checklist of signs and symptoms. Please use the potential symptoms listed on the Teacherease daily check-in as a guide.
