Miss Andrews

Lindsey Andrews, in her fourth year as an educator at BHRA, graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor's in English from the University of St. Francis. While there, she continued her softball career, playing at the collegiate level. Miss Andrews is also a BHRA Alumni from the class of 2016. Presently, she wears multiple hats as the assistant volleyball coach and head softball coach at BHRA, channeling her athletic experience into mentoring young talents. This year marks her debut as the advisor for BHRA's school newspaper, The Blue Blaze, where she nurtures the next generation of writers and journalists.

Jaelyn Atwood

Jaelyn Atwood

Jaelyn Atwood, is in her junior year of high school at BHRA, previously going to Rossville-Alvin grade school. Outside of school, Jaelyn works as a waitress at the Rossville Family Restaurant and babysits four days a week, she also likes to volunteer working concession stands for her brothers baseball games. Jaelyn decided to take journalism to get more involved with her school, and to better her writing/interviewing skills. This year in journalism she is excited to learn more about the staff here at school, as well as her peers. Jaelyn is hoping this year the school newspaper, The Blue Blaze, will come back more improved and better than it was in the past.

Percy Belt

Percy Belt is a Junior at BHRA, a part of the graduating class of 2025. She has always enjoyed writing and decided to take journalism to improve her writing skills. Percy also enjoys fulfilling her love for art and is a part of our school's art program. Currently Percy is enrolled in Art II and Graphic Design. Percy’s plans for after high school are to become a writer or a a tattoo artist, leaving her options open. She likes being in nature and taking close-up photography. This year she is most looking forward to meeting new people and having more opportunities.

Morgan Bozarth

Morgan Bozarth

Morgan Bozarth is in her second year of highschool, a sophomore at BHRA. Outside of school Morgan is involved in extracurricular activities such as Volleyball and Softball. Morgan took this class to work on her writing skills and to be a little bit more involved with the school functions. She feels the school's newspaper, The Blue Blaze, is a great way to be more involved with the school. Morgan looks forward to writing stories about all the schools' sporting events and extracurricular activities that are going on in our building. 

Wyatt

Wyatt Bywater

Wyatt Bywater is in their sophomore year at BHRA. They participate in theater, alongside writing for the newspaper. They have three cats. Wyatt has a love of writing, which they hope will be improved upon joining the journalism/school newspaper class. They want to pursue a career in Journalism after college, and this class will help gain experience. When growing up, Wyatt wrote stories and created their own newspaper for fun, so when hearing that The Blue Blaze was back at BHRA, they knew they had to join.

Ethan

Ethan Dubois

Ethan Dubois is a Junior at BHRA. He is a multi-sport athlete that plays varsity for football, basketball, and baseball. He also gets a good amount of hours working a part time job at wingstop to cover for all his food and gas. He took this class because it seemed really fun being involved in the school paper and getting to interview people and ask them questions and opinions on things. Also his friends really wanted him to join the class and Ms. Andrews said she needed more people and he told her that he was willing to do it. He is looking forward to doing a lot of interviews with the athletes that I get to be teammates with and know their opinions on things.

Natali Garcia

Natali Garcia

Natali Garcia is a sophomore at BHRA,  a part of the class of 2026. Her interests include enjoying the outdoors,  going to school events,  spending time with friends, and writing during her free time. Natali has future goals of being a real estate agent in the suburbs of Chicago. One of her main goals is to study real estate now to be prepared for the future. She chose journalism because she wanted to be in a school group,  make more friends, and try something new. She is really looking forward to all the new events and news that will be covered in the school newspaper, as well as, the Blue Blaze coming back to our school! 

Rowan

Rowan King

Rowan King is a Sophomore at BHRA. She decided to take Journalism to increase her skill level in writing. She says she feels more involved with her school by contributing to the Blue Blaze. In her previous years, she has played Basketball and Volleyball, but decided to focus more on her work. Rowan enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family. She is very close with her nineteen year old sister, Ava. Rowan is looking forward to learning more about the school and her peers through interviews held by the Blue Blaze.

Peyton Warren

Peyton Warren

Peyton Elaine Warren is a Sophomore at BHRA. She is not involved in any school activities besides the newspaper. She likes to read, write and play with her dogs and cats. She has four sisters, four cats, three dogs, three chickens and one bunny. She chose to take this class because she likes writing and sees Journalism as a good opportunity. She's looking forward to a fun class that includes a group of people working together to make a fun newspaper with information for the students, parents, and staff. She is super excited to be part of bringing Blue Blaze back to BHRA!
