Many of our staff started the 2019-2020 school year off a day early by participating in a literacy professional development with Courtney Gordon of Smekens Education! She loved our staff! Thanks to Andi Mae's and Cafecito Cubano food truck for celebrating our teachers!



All incoming band students, B&J will be in the cafeteria Monday, August 19th from 2:30pm- 5pm for anyone that needs to rent an instrument.

On Wednesday, from 11am-2pm, the Cafecito Cubano Food Truck will be parked in the BHJH parking lot! Stop in and order from their amazing menu!
As a food option for our staff during an inservice, a food truck was invited to park in the BHJH lot. We welcome you to join us!

BHJH OPEN HOUSE is AUGUST 15TH!
Everyone will meet in the MPR at 6:00 - 7:15. Mr. Campbell will introduce the staff and give a brief presentation about BHJH. Then students and families will be dismissed to meet their teachers, put supplies in lockers and socialize until 7:15.

Registration begins tomorrow! Don't forget your residency verification, you won't be able to register without it.


5/6 girls Bismarck basketball starts August 6th. There will be information to be picked up at registration for anyone interested in playing.

Don't forget! Sports physicals for $25 tomorrow from 10am-12pm in the MPR. The front of the IESA physical form needs to be filled out and signed by a parent/guardian before attending.


BHJH SOFTBALL TRYOUTS: BHJH is having a parent ran softball team starting next fall. Tryouts are July 29th at 6:00 p.m at the Bismarck Park. Call Coach Jake Nelson at 217-304-1865 with any questions you may have. GO EAGLES!

The Bismarck-Henning Junior High track team finished their 2019 season with great success. Individually and at the team level, BHJH brought home several medals, ribbons, plaques, and trophies. Twenty-three student-athletes qualified to make the trip to East Peoria to compete at the IESA 1A State Meet.
As a team, the 8th grade boys were able to accumulate enough points to bring home the 4th place trophy at the IESA 1A State Meet. Also, on the team level, all four teams which include the 7th and 8th grade boys and 7th and 8th grade girls, swept the Vermilion County Meet and the Sectional Meet, by bringing home 1st place in each division.
On an individual level at the state meet, BHJH had great success:
