BHJH Track Team

The Bismarck-Henning Junior High track team finished their 2019 season with great success. Individually and at the team level, BHJH brought home several medals, ribbons, plaques, and trophies. Twenty-three student-athletes qualified to make the trip to East Peoria to compete at the IESA 1A State Meet.

As a team, the 8th grade boys were able to accumulate enough points to bring home the 4th place trophy at the IESA 1A State Meet. Also, on the team level, all four teams which include the 7th and 8th grade boys and 7th and 8th grade girls, swept the Vermilion County Meet and the Sectional Meet, by bringing home 1st place in each division.

On an individual level at the state meet, BHJH had great success: • Amber Reed o 3rd fastest time in 100m Dash prelims o 3rd place in 200m Dash • Ella McFarland o 8th place in 7th grade High Jump • Ella Rae Myers o 9th place in 7th grade High Jump • Micah Stanford o 3rd place in 7th grade 110m Hurdles • Brett Meidel o 6th place in 8th grade 110m Hurdles o 3rd place in 8th grade High Jump • Leighton Meeker o 3rd place in 8th grade 200m Dash • Michael Hackman o 7th place in 8th grade 400m Dash
