BHJH Information,
Good afternoon,
We hope that our families are doing well and staying healthy.? We are about to embark on a brand new way of educating our students, and to be quite honest, it is somewhat scary.? However, we will get things started tomorrow and make changes as we go if needed.? I am sure there will be problems that we will run into, and we will fix them to the best of our ability.? The building WILL NOT be open to you as I had first planned.? The 8th graders who need to come in and pick up materials from Mrs. Leigh will need to pull up in front of the building, and we will come outside to see what you need. We will bring the materials out to you.? You will stay in your vehicle.?? We will be available in the office from 8-3 all week long. If you need to come into the building at another time, please call the office (217-759-7301) or my cell (217-260-8880), ?and we will set up a time for you to come in and pick up your materials.? Here is our plan that we will follow for the following weeks.
The daily activities will be sent out by email or Google Classroom.
Monday: Mental Health Monday:? Mrs. Hall will have a family survey or activity for our families.? It will be emailed out to our families.
Tuesday:?Math Day:? The math teachers will send out their activities in the morning for that day.? If we use Kahn Academy, then students can access it whenever they can throughout the week.
Wednesday: Reading/English Day: The teachers will send out their activities in the morning for that day.?
Thursday: Science/Social Studies:? The teachers will send out their activities in the morning for that day.?
Friday:? Friday Fun Day:? We encourage all of our families to do fun, interactive activities as a family.? We will send fun activities to give you some suggestions.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

The District will be providing sack lunches next week for those students who are interested. Below is the link to access the survey that will need to be completed if you are interested. Thank you.

Mrs. Buyno
Married, Mother of 2, daughter that is a senior at Westville High School and son that just started at BHES on Monday. Previously worked at BHJH for 6 years as the Computer Lab Aide. I left and worked at Judith Giaioma for a year and a half. Come back to to BHJH where I plan to spend many years. I am excited that my son gets to share my love for Bismarck with me!!

Parents must provide transportation to and from Camp Invention for all campers and mentors. Miss Kim at BHES is working on providing lunches that week at the same price as during the school year.

5th and 6th Grade Boys’ Basketball
It is about time for 5th and 6th grade boys’ basketball for the 2018-2019 school year. It is important to return the attached form to school by October 24th , to let us know who is interested in playing. We will need all contact and notification information so coaches can communicate with parents, if needed.
Fifth and sixth grade basketball will emphasize fundamentals and learning the game of basketball. There will be a fee of $25.00 to participate, that will be collected at the first practice in November. We have scheduled 12 games. If we have a lot of boys sign up there may be a need to make two teams. If we make two teams, they will be split evenly with each team playing half the games on the schedule. Because this is not a school sponsored sport, it will be the responsibility of parents to drive kids to and from games. Practices will be held in the junior high gym or multipurpose gym. Some games will be played at home.
We will get a practice schedule out as soon as we can. Please return the completed interest form if your son would like to participate in 5th and 6th grade basketball. Practices will begin sometime in early November. If there are any questions, please contact

Aubrey Carpenter, BHHS Class of ’98 alumn, is the new Director of Curriculum and Assessment for the district. Mrs. Carpenter is married to a youth pastor and has five children, four of which attend Bismarck-Henning schools.
