Holly Kelly from The Learning Technology Center is hosting a workshop for parents/guardians on using Google Classroom. The same workshop is being offered three different times on October 27th to allow flexibility for the parents/guardians' schedules. Announcement for BHES Open House: This year we have canceled our building-wide Open House for the Elementary School. We will still have an in-person orientation for Kindergarten. We have the following time slots for families based on last names. Last names A through G will begin at 5:00 PM Last names H through M will begin at 6:00 PM Last names N through Z will begin at 7:00 PM Students can bring their supplies to their classroom, will meet their teachers, and take a short bus ride. Make sure to bring your student’s physical, immunization record, dental form, and vision form for Nurse Strader. For the safety of our families and staff, please remember to wear a mask at all times inside the building. Also, please bring as few family members as possible, so we can stay under our limit of 50 people in one space at one time.

In 2019, the Fun Run was renamed to the Laura K. Girton Fun Run to honor the amazing legacy Laura K. Girton left at BHES.

When: June 1st-June 5th from 9:00-3:30 with possible extended day option from 7:30-5:00. Where: Bismarck Henning Elementary School Who: Incoming 1st-6th grade Bismarck-Henning and Rossville-Alvin students Price: $210 if registered by the end of March, $235 if registered in April or May. Why: Camp Invention® is a nationally acclaimed summer program where STEM concepts come to life. Led by local teachers, this program has tapped into kids' natural curiosity since 1990, giving them the opportunity to become innovators through teamwork and immersive, hands-on creative problem-solving. Good morning. This is Lisa Acton, Principal of Bismarck Henning Elementary School. Mid morning 911 received a call that traced back to our phone lines, but no call was made from our building. Vermilion County police officers were on site to make sure that our building was safe and secure. We appreciate their support and I am happy to report that our building is operating as normal. Tomorrow is the day! We are so excited to see your kids walk through our doors! The doors open to students at 7:50 am. Please do not drop-off your student or allow them to walk to school too early as the building will not open until then. We are looking for subs for the 19/20 school year! Subs can choose the days they work! They can even choose to only sub in certain districts! There are 2 types of sub licenses. A regular sub license is for someone who has a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. A short-term sub license is for those that have an Associate’s degree or 60 completed semester hours of coursework. All of our subs must be registered through the Vermilion County Regional Office of Education 54. Regular licensee subs can follow the information below. AR Inflatable Day was so much fun!
It was a great day of learning at Bismarck! Our administrative team took part in a Google classroom session presented by our friends from Oakwood Grade School. The students led the presentation today and showed us how using this program can make learning engaging and meaningful for our students. A big thank you to the staff at OGS.

Kindergartners heard a story about twins who wanted to know who or what was messing up their room at night. The twins built a trap and then rebuilt it when it didn’t work. Eventually they caught their brother! We got together in groups, discussed our plan for our traps, then built our traps! 👷🏼♂️👷🏻♀️

Are you curious whether you have what it takes to wrestle? Bismarck Youth Wrestling will hold an Introduction to Wrestling Camp from Monday, November 5 - Friday, November 9 in the BHES gym from 6:15pm-7:15pm. This camp will allow you to learn basic wrestling moves from our BHRA High School wrestlers & get a feel for how practices are ran. The camp cost is $20 for the week and if you decide to sign up for the season, that $20 will go towards your season sign up fee. The camp is open to all Kindergartners through 8th graders. The 2018-2019 season sign-ups will be held during the camp as well. Please see your 1st hour/homeroom teacher or the junior high office to get the flyer with details and the waiver required to attend camp. Hope to see you there!!!
