Announcements:

  • WATCH PARTY TONIGHT in the MPR!! It’s Senior Night for Boys basketball and Cheer.  We still have tickets available!  Tickets are $2 unless you have a Blue Devil Pride card.  Doors open at 6:45.  See Mrs. Tidwell or the office for your tickets today!

  • FFA Week is next week!  Dress up days are happening and there will be a ‘Drive Your Tractor to School Day’ on Wednesday, February 24th.  In order to participate in the Drive Your Tractor to school day, you must fill out the attached form and submit it with a copy of your Driver’s License to Mrs. DeGolyer by 2pm on Monday the 22nd.  Drive Your Tractor to School Day Form

    • Wednesday - Truck & Tractor - Wear your favorite truck and tractor brand

    • Thursday - Morning Chore Clothes PJ’s - Wear your pajamas with your boots

    • Friday - Blue & Gold - Wear your Blue & Gold or FFA official dress

  • Bring plastic shopping bags into your 2nd hour teacher all week for a recycling challenge sponsored by FFA!  The winning class will win a treat!

  • Math Contest is still happening this year.  It will be Tuesday March 16 from 2 - 5.  If you are interested in participating please fill out this form.  If you have any questions, come see any math teacher.

  • If you are interested in being a Leadership Intern for Camp Invention at BHES July 5th-9th this summer and get 40 hours of documented community service hours working with the elementary students, please see or email Mrs. Carpenter for more information (acarpenter@students.bismarck.k12.il.us).  There could also be openings for paid childcare for students who need to come early or stay late that week.  Interviews for the positions will start in March. 

  • Students who will be taking Dual Enrollment US History next year, please see Mrs. Guminski to sign up for textbooks. There are a limited number available.

  • The  BHRA LIBRARY is having their Annual  BOOK SALE! All books are just 25 cents each!  Come in and see all the books we have to offer. The book sale will run the month of February.

Quarantine Information: Questions?  Contact Nurse Kelly Based on CDC recommendations, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has given school districts permission to update quarantine procedures for those who are considered a close contact of someone with COVID19.  In consultation with the Vermilion County Health Department the following changes will now be implemented:

New Guidelines:  If exposed, students may return after 10 days, if symptom free the entire 10 days. If there are symptoms at any point during the ten days, then the student must stay home the entire 14 days.  Symptoms include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

With both options the following additional criteria through day 14 must be met: • correct and consistent mask use (including within homes), • social distancing, hand and cough hygiene, hand and cough hygiene, environmental cleaning and disinfection, avoiding crowds, ensuring adequate indoor ventilation, monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19 illness, and minimizing contact with persons at increased risk for severe illness, including vulnerable and congregate populations. 

Monitoring can be conducted using any method acceptable by the local public health authorities and can include self-monitoring using an approved checklist of signs and symptoms. Please use the potential symptoms listed on the Teacherease daily check-in as a guide.
