Student Recognition Breakfast
Illinois Principal's Assocation Honors Excellence
The Illinois Principals Association held their annual Student Recognition Breakfast at Days Inn in Danville on Friday, February 17, 2012. Outstanding students from schools throughout Vermilion County were chosen based upon grades, character and accomplishments to be honored at the breakfast.
Mr. Rademacher was proud to take Miss Ashley Smith and Mr. Kenneth Albin as representatives of Bismarck Henning High School. Ashley is the daughter of Stephen and Laura Smith. She was selected as the Daughters of the American Revolution recipient, is a DARE Role Model and an Illinois State Scholar. Ashley is a She is a member of an Expressive sign language team and enjoys being involved in her church youth group. She plans to attend Johnson University and earn degrees in youth ministry and Bible.
Kenneth is the son of Chris and Pam Albin. He was selected as the recipient of the Sons of the American Revolution award. He was also selected for All-County and Conference for Track and Cross Country. Kenneth is a hard-working leader who enjoys helping people, chess, music and running. He serves the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a leader, and is active in band and youth group. He plans to attend Millikin University and earn a degree in Finance.
Mr. Campbell was proud to take Miss Jordynn Hardy and Mr. James Bouleware to represent Bismarck Henning Junior High. Jordynn is the daughter of Doug and Rhonda Hardy. She has been on the High Honor Roll all 4 years and enjoys reading, writing and sketching. She is very competitive, sweet, hard-working and has a great sense of humor. She enjoys playing soccer, softball, tennis and played basketball all 4 years at BHJH. Jordynn's goal is to graduate in 2016 as the Valedictorian of her class and join the National Guard.
James is the son of Sarah Bouleware. He has been on the Honor Roll all 4 years, and on Scholastic Bowl in 5th, 6th and 8th grades. He enjoys studying for tests, getting good grades, mowing yards in the summer and repairing bikes. Jay attends Ridgeview Baptist Church and is a member of the IMPACT youth group. Jay is polite, bright, has a good sense of humor, and is a good citizen. Jay's goal is to attend college and become an engineer.
Mrs. Girton was proud to take Miss Emily Meidel and Mr. Avery McConkey. Emily is the daughter of Mike and Heather Meidel. She has been a straight A student, a STAR Room student, and came in 1st place with the Bismarck soccer team. Emily is very kind and compassionate, is a hard worker, is self-motivated, and ia a leader among her peers. She enjoys reading, coloring, basketball, and playing the piano. Emily's goal is to continue to get straight A's throughout her school career.
Avery is the son of Rob and Mindy McConkey. He is also a straight A student. He enjoys playing sports, XBox, eating pizza and is a Tim Tebow fan. Avery is very hardworking, honest, caring and trustworthy. His goals include becoming a meteorologist or playing a professional sport.
Congratulations to all of these students for their accomplishments. It was an honor to have them represent Bismarck-Henning School District at this year's recognition ceremony.
